Just Because I Disagree.....

I wanted to put my thoughts down tonight on a specific topic that is misunderstood. Just because I disagree with something or a particular idea, does not mean I have a phobia of those things. According to the dictionary, "phobia" is a noun that means "an anxiety disorder characterized by extreme and irrational fear of simple things or social situations; "phobic disorder is a general term for all phobias"- (Source: The Free Dictionary). With that being understood, people should know that there are a lot of things that I, as a Follower of Christ, do not agree with.  Christians are not phobics of anything we disagree with so don't be so quick to "judge" us and label us as such. We simply would rather be right with God than with men. When I voice these disagreements, I do not do it because I think I am perfect and without sin. It is not a sign of me "being holier than thou" neither is it a condemnation. Rather, it is just me, studying to show myself approve UNTO GOD. ( 2 Timothy 2:15) If we say we love God, we cannot love the things of this world, nor line up with the ideologies of this world. How can we call the name of God yet do the very things that He commands not to do? It is not possible! The Bible tells us

"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him"- 1 John 2:15

In today's society, it is getting harder and harder to voice your disagreement on something without being labeled as a "religious freak" who uses the Bible to " judge" when the Bible says " only God can judge".  Disagreement is not judgement. It means I do not believe what you believe. If disagreement was judgement, then those that do not believe what I believe are in fact judging me too aren't they? I post many facebook status about my life and my journey through life with Christ. The woman I am today, is not who I was 2 years ago or even last year. Every day I wake up only striving to be more of who God created me to be and that means I pray for God to break me and re-make me daily.

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."-Romans 12:2

But that's where the "problem" lies. This means that people will not like me. This also means that I will not be the most popular but rather I'll be infamous because my mind is no longer conformed to this world. I have seen more than my fair share of facebook statuses bashing me and insulting me because of what I stand for and the things I post. I don't mind and I do not care. Jesus already said that we will be hated by everyone because of Him (Matthew 10:22)so there's is nothing new or shocking in the hate that Christians are now facing.Being loved by this world leads to lukewarmness, that which my God hates. I rather be alone in my disagreement of something, than perish in the company and agreement of many.

Just a quick blog on this cool date. I'm in the middle of the stressful college life where you question your decision to go to school.......finals week! I pray for all students! May God give you the knowledge needed to excel in your courses! Eat healthy food, exercise if you can, and shower! (laugh out loud!)

Strength in December

I'm sure that my daily readers can already tell by now that I love music. There's just this feeling I get when I hear a song that resonates with my heart. It truly is unexplainable but I speak to God through music, I worship God through music, I hear the voice of God speaking to me through music, and I gather strength, joy, and peace through music about God. Today as I was studying, the song " Praise You in this storm" by Casting Crowns came on my Pandora station. I have now replayed that song over 10 times and counting.  The phase of my life that I am currently and have been in for the last couple of months is trusting God whole-heartedly knowing that anything that happens, whether we consider it "good" or "bad", God is still God!

I'm learning to just love God for being God. Basically drawing closer to God and knowing His nature. I feel that this is important because it controls my heart and keeps me focus on God. I have lived 22 years and have found that through the years, many things have made me cry. I have been disappointed many times by both people and things, but one thing has been consistent, and that thing is that God did not change. He has never disappointed when He promised me something, neither has He decided that He is no longer interested in my affairs because of a mistake on my end. God has been faithful through it all and now He is trying to show me to rely on HIM ONLY. To trust His plans for my life and to know that His plans for me are good plans, even in the middle of my storms. This message was especially clear today when the song at church was " In the Middle"a song by Isaac Carree that talks about praising God even in the middle of the storm. Also the confirmation came through Casting Crowns "Praise You in this storm" just now.

And I'll praise You in this storm And I will lift my hands For You are who You are No matter where I am And every tear I've cried You hold in Your hand You never left my side And though my heart is torn....I will praise You in this storm

My favorite part of the song is the chorus above where it says " You are who You are, No matter where I am". The statement is so deep! God does not change even though our situations may change and that's an amazing thing to grasps! It comes with so much assurance and peace knowing that just because things are hard right now, doesn't mean that God has forsaken us or given up on us. He is a perfect God, even in the storm. With that I am going into this month of December in peace. There lies ahead of me so many exams, presentations, and interviews, but no matter where I am, God is and always will be God therefore I will praise Him through all my storms this month and forever! May God see us into 2013! Amen!

Reflections of My Heart....Legacy

This is the song in my heart at the moment. I have dreams and visions I want to accomplish, but I consider them all nothing. My deepest desire is to be used by God and fulfill His purpose for my life. That's the legacy I want to leave......it's all about Jesus Christ! He is Love! <3

I don't mind if you've got something nice to say about me

And I enjoy an accolade like the rest
You could take my picture and hang it in a gallery
Of all who's who and so-n-so's that used to be the best
At such'n'such ... it wouldn't matter much

I won't lie, it feels alright to see your name in lights

We all need an 'Atta boy' or 'Atta girl'
But in the end I'd like to hang my hat on more besides
The temporary trappings of this world

I want to leave a legacy

How will they remember me?
Did I choose to love? Did I point to You enough
To make a mark on things?
I want to leave an offering
A child of mercy and grace who
blessed your name unapologetically
And leave that kind of legacy

I don't have to look too far or too long awhile

To make a lengthly list of all that I enjoy
It's an accumulating trinket and a treasure pile
Where moth and rust, thieves and such will soon enough destroy

Not well traveled, not well read, not well-to-do or well bred

Just want to hear instead, "Well Done" good and faithful one...

Thanksgiving 2012

Today is November 25, 2012 and I am rounding up my Thanksgiving break and preparing to get back into the "student mode" for classes tomorrow. As I sit here writing this, I reflect on this break and come to the realization that in everything, no matter the state I find myself in, I should be content and thankful. For this Thanksgiving break, I didn't go back home to spend it with my family because of work obligations. I did however, spend it with some awesome people I regard as family. So what I am thankful for?

  1. I am thankful for Salvation through Jesus Christ. Everyday I see more and more of His grace and how unworthy I am of His mercy and love. Yet despite all my shortcomings, this God still loves me. I am so undeserving and as a result I cannot but worship God all the days of my life. He alone deserves my praise!
  2. I'm thankful for my family. I know most people say this but I love my family, I cannot imagine my life without my four brothers and my parents. In my 22 years of living, they've been there through everything always supporting, always providing a safe place for me. I thank God for them and for allowing me to spend more time with them.
  3. I'm thankful for true friends. I've come across some of the most amazing people walking the face of the earth and I feel so honored that God has given me the chance to interact with them. They are a second family and a source of many good laughter.
  4. I am thankful for my education. Here I am thinking about graduating in May with my Bachelor of Science degree and planning to start pharmacy school in August  to get my Doctor of Pharmacy degree. It's only God's grace if you knew my past and how I even got to where I am today.
  5. I am thankful to God also for myself. I know this is a weird one, but I thank God for working on me like He has been doing. This year especially, I feel God moving in me so much. I am daily being changed by His power to reflect Him more. I am being challenged beyond what I could have imagine yet His grace is sufficient in seeing me through. I love how He is molding me and I only pray that I can by His grace, continue to be a vessel in His hand for use.
I have more to be thankful but this will take a lifetime to list. I just appreciate God for this life He has given me. For everything He has done, for everything He is doing, and for everything He is going to be doing, I am grateful. But most importantly, I bless the name of the Lord for who HE IS. Just for being God, i am so thankful! There's no God like our God. I pray you all had a lovely thanksgiving. By God's grace, we will never run out of things to be thankful for. I love you all! Stay bless!

Sound Doctrine

I went home to Houston this weekend so I was able to attend church with my family. I have to admit, my heart was overwhelmed with gratitude to God when I saw my family. Not only were they in good health, but they are holding fast the SOUND DOCTRINE of Jesus Christ. It has been placed in my spirit lately about how the world has shifted away from that which is Godly and nearer to the very things that break the heart of God. The Scripture that has found its way into my mouth lately has been

"For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear"-2 Timothy 4:3

In addition Isaiah 5:20 talks of people who call good evil, and evil good and that verse says WOE UNTO THEM. The Lord has instructed us to study to show ourselves approve unto Him, a workmen that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth!  (2 Timothy 2:15) Therefore, if you are attending a church that does not preach the Bible, or preaches the Bible in parts (deciding which part to teach and which part to ignore) then your soul is in trouble. It is time to find another place of worship. If you have friends who are not godly, it's time to separate yourself from amongst them. Basically, remove yourself from anything and everything that does not stand on the Holiness and Righteousness of Christ. We are in this world, but not of this world! Be therefore different! Today when I attended the service, the Sunday school was studying the book of Revelations and my heart leaped for  joy! This is what all pastors should be preaching at this age! We are in the last days and this period of God's grace is almost over! Immediately following this period is judgement. The Lord is pouring out His Spirit and calling all that will hear to REPENT for the time is short. Do you hear Him? If so what are you doing about it? God's words will come to pass with or without your acknowledgment, whether you believe it or not. The safest place to be at this age, is under the Shadow of the Almighty.

I beg you brothers and sisters. If you read this, please search your heart and make sure that you are right with God. The warnings are here! Let us now surround ourselves with true believers of Christ! Remove and separate yourself from darkness! The Word of God tells us that "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:"-John 10:27. If you are of the flock of God, hear His voice now. Come out of the world, and be surrounded with Sound Doctrine. Many will come and have come to dilute the Word of God and weaken the children of God. Therefore arm yourself with the TRUTH and that TRUTH IS JESUS CHRIST! THE SAME YESTERDAY, TODAY, AND FOREVER!

Relationship 101: There's a Season For Everything

I write this as a reminder to myself and as an encouragement to anyone who might come across this. When it comes to relationships, we shouldn't be in a hurry to enter one. I know that is easier said then done, but if we are truly living with the sole purpose of honoring God with our lives, then we should be able to give this area of our life  over to God's Will. Though it may be the season of rejoicing or should I say, romancing for "everyone", we shouldn't then be sadden when we think of our own case. I put the word "everyone" in quotes because we tend to over exaggerate everything! As far as we are concern, everyone and everything including the dogs and cats, have someone to love but us! (laugh out loud) when in reality, that's not the way it is. We should learn to trust the timing of God and rest on the assurance that He is never late. In the book of Ecclesiastics 3:1, the Word of God says

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven"
That means that there's no event that has slipped pass the knowledge of God but rather God has ordained all things to come to pass in its own time. I am choosing to believe God and using this period to honor Him and thank Him for the man He is preparing. I know that the longer the wait, the more things God is perfecting in him and about him to make him a suitable partner. And the same goes for me. When that season comes, I believe that person I will be then, whom God shall present to him, shall be the perfect mate for him and him for me: bone of his bones and flesh of his flesh. So I rejoice with those experiencing their seasons now knowing that while I thank God for what He  has done and is doing for others, my own season shall come. I wait expectantly for that day.

I believe this is what he is saying <3

How to Make Nigerian Meat Pie

I made meat pies a while back and these are the steps I used! Enjoy and let me know if you tried it!

Ingredients: Ground beef, Flour, Carrots, Potatoes, White onions, Butter, Baking powder, maggi cube, salt  (personal seasonings)

Chop onions, carrots and potatoes into little cubes

add oil to pot and add ground beef, onions and salt.

Cook until beef is done

add carrots and potatoes

Then Add maggi, and personal seasonings . Allow to cook for 10 minutes or until carrots and potatoes are soft.

in a cup, add 1/2 cup of water and 2 teaspoons of flour. Stir the flour in the cup and then add the mixture to the pot. Cook for 5 minutes and your dressing will be done. Set it aside

Add butter to the flour. Add enough until the flour slowly changes color. Add 2 spoons of baking powder, a pinch of salt. Be careful not to add too much salt if your butter is already salted.

Add water to the flour slowly and mix until the dough is thoroughly mixed and soft

roll out the dough and use a cutter to make small circles. I used the top of my pot to make the circles

Add a little of the already prepared dressing

In a plate, crack open an egg. Moist the ends of the dough with egg yolk.

Fold the dough over and seal the ends with a fork. Using the egg yolk, slightly cover the top of the sealed meat pie with the egg yolk.  Think of it as rubbing "lotion" on the meat pie. This will make the meat pie turn goldish-brown in the oven. Repeat these steps until you are out of dough or until you make as many meat pies as you wish

Put in oven for 45 minutes or until the pies are gold in complexion.
Let it cool and enjoy!

2012 Warnings: Seek Christ Now!

The following was written January 5, 2012 on my facebook page and I feel the need to re-surface it! Take Heed!
To start, let me say that I have no power of my and I am totally dependent on Jesus Christ, my Lord and Personal Savior. This has been placed in my heart and my spirit, and I will not be honoring God if I didn't share it. I pray that you read with an open heart and even if you don't believe it, do your own research click on every link, read the articles and compare everything with the Bible. I will just write this as it comes and I pray that God opens your eyes to the truth so that you are aware of the age in which we are in. THE END IS NEAR.

  1. 2012
On Sunday January 1, 2012, there was a prophecy at my church, The Apostolic Church House of Prayer Ministries here in Houston, concerning this year.
  • The Lord declared that He is God alone stating that many will rise claiming to be god, claiming to have the power but before He, the Almighty, they are nothing. "For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many."-Matthew 24:5
  • The Lord said that deception and confusion has been released into the world. This is the time, many will deny God and turn to the devil. BE CAREFUL so that you are not among those that are deceived. "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect."-Matthew24:24
  • The Lord declared that HE IS COMING BACK soon; That He once destroyed the world with flood, but this time He will destroy with fire and brimstone. "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up."-2 Peter 3:10
  • The Lord declared that you seek Him NOW! The time has come to hold on the the truth and God like never before. Where do you stand? if you are for Christ, then BE FOR CHRIST 100%. No more being Lukewarm! You are either HOT or COLD! CHOOSE NOW!!  "I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth."- Revelations 3:15-16
  • The Lord said this year will be horrible. There will be tears and sorrows like never before but for those that trust in God and hold on to Him, the Lord promised to watch over His own and spare them from the evils that are coming for they are surely coming! "The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul."-Psalm121:7
  • The Lord says to call upon Him at all times. Commit yourself and family into His hands when you go out, while you are out, and when you come in. PRAY AND WATCH! "Pray without ceasing"-1 Thessalonians5:17

These are just a few of the points I remembered and jotted down but the overall message was clear. This is NOT the time to play with your salvation. The end is surely near and the devil is out ready to deceive all he can before his time runs out. Please, if you consider yourself a Christian, make sure you are serving God and not just a Sunday worshipper that thinks by playing religion on Sundays and living your life ruled by the world and things of the world Monday-Saturday night at 3am when the clubs end, you'll make Heaven. The Bible says "Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven."-Matthew7:21  There a sense of URGENCY and if you are true Christian walking in the spirit, you can feel it. Are you prepared?!?

2. News and Laws/ END TIME PROPHECIES UNFOLDING

It will be very foolish of you to not be keeping up with the laws being passed or are about to be passed and the "freedoms" the world will soon be losing. Stop facebooking and tweeting and WAKE UP! Below are some interesting videos to watch. All these things are setting the stage for the New World Order. The End is near! Read your Bible!!

  • The National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012/ SNATCH AND GRAB
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CcdeTu6HziY- Dead or Alive NDAA Pt1
The government taking away your freedom of trial by jury or even just defending yourself in court.
  • Stop Online Piracy Act( SOPA)

  • Earthquakes/Wars/Famine in many places "Matthew 24:7-8 (NKJV) "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows."
  • False Prophets   "Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves."
  • Israel will become the center of news soon. Watch for it!

3. Music Industry and Its Satanic Agenda
Many people will call me crazy, but I don't care. The "music" industry and some things on the radio are all satanic and unconsciously you are participating in occult satanic worship. Before you tear my head off, do your own research on the Illuminati, freemasons, New World Order, One World Government, The truth about 9/11, and the mega stars you know of and their "alter ego". Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Jay Z, Kanye West, Jessy J, Brittany Spears, Lil Wayne.....the list keeps going. Stop claiming to only be listening to the "beats" and LISTEN TO THE WORDS and WATCH THE SYMBOLS! The Devil was the most gifted singer in heaven before his fall, so it only makes sense that he is now deceiving the world through music. PAY ATTENTION!! You are being dumbed down by these music into blind submission into your downfall!!

The world is not as innocent as you want to believe. There is a war going on and it's for your soul. There's a devil and there's a God. Believe what you want but the truth stands. You don't have to believe in gravity, but fall from a 100 story building and you'll know gravity is real. The world and all creation are giving signs of the second coming of Jesus Christ. You don't have to believe it, but it's real. Eternity is a long time. Choose where you will spend it. Again I'm not saying I have all the answers, but I woke up to the truth a long time ago and i'm only choosing to share what I've found. If you have questions, feel free to ask, or share what you know, but I will not debate on this matter. I've done my research and have concluded for myself and I only ask that you do the same and conclude for yourself. The truth is like a lion, it doesn't need to be defended. It can fight for itself. Jesus is the Lion of Judah!

May God keep us all in this era that we have entered. The End is near....prepare yourself. Repent and cling to Jesus Christ!! He's the only One that can save!

From my heart,
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek."-Romans1:16

It's For YOUR Own Good

I haven't blogged in such a long time because of all the things that have taken place in the past one month. It felt like and still feels like all that could go wrong went wrong at the same time and the stress of it all was overwhelming. I blog today not to say that the storm has passed or that everything is in its rightful place, but just to express how grateful I am to God for taking me through the most difficult period of this year so far. My faith, trust, and Spirit has been tested with fire and I stand here today as a testament of my victory over the things that has transpired. If you hold on to God's words in the midst of your hardest test, He will see you through.

Without going into too much details, (I'll give my testimony on a later day) I faced difficulties in school work, friendships, had car problems, lack of sleep, work, stress etc. etc. etc. Now that I can see the light at the end of this dark tunnel, I can boldly say that EVERYTHING that happened, was for my own good! God mastermind and planned every situation in my favor. Even the things the enemy wanted to use for my destruction, my God used it for my progression. I won't go into details yet but want to encourage anyone going through a storm in their life. Pray and believe that God is at work. There has to be a test, before a testimony so do not be discouraged. If God is the same yesterday, today and forever, He will see you through as He is seeing me through.

Voting in Vain

"Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain."-Psalm 127:1

I like to replace "the house" and "the city" with America. Except the LORD build America, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep America, the watchman waketh but in vain. No matter who you vote for, if that candidate does not stand with God, you cast your vote in vain. A nation without God is doomed and that doesn't just go for America. Any nation that draws away from God and the things of God is only calling upon the wrath of God. That nation will eventually fall, just like Babylon.

And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, The beauty of the Chaldeans’ pride,
Will be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.
- Isaiah 13:19
Many will like to think I'm a conspiracy theorist or that I'm pessimistic  all of which aren't true. I don't follow blindly or get easily excited with what is "popular". I stand by scripture and scripture has already declared what is to come. Watching the moral decay of America, it's not hard to liken it to the great Babylon.  Like in the days of Noah right before the flood, there was many warnings for the people to come out of their wicked ways. Like in the days of Abraham right before the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, many were eating and drinking, living it up, YOLO as they say now, but God is warning to come out this wickedness before destruction comes!

"And I heard another voice from heaven saying, Come out of her my people that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues"- Revelations 18:4

"Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the LORD'S vengeance; he will render unto her a recompence."- Jeremiah 51:6

The same cry is coming out to us today. Come out of Babylon! These are the warnings and the signs of what is to come. Believe it or not, it does not change God. Instead of worrying about the next president, I will rather like to focus on Christ. He is the one that will give peace for the storm that is coming and be an anchor to hold me when the wild winds blow.  The next 4 years should be interesting. We are living in quite fascinating times. It is time to put your faith in Christ and to pray like never before!

God and Science: There IS a God!

This was posted by me almost 2 years ago...but God reminded me of it today and I searched my facebook for it!

Today was an extraordinary day. I woke up and went about my day as usual, but I felt God confirming His existence in so many different ways. First, I read an article about how Protestants are no longer the majority religion in the United States for the first time in its history. While the number of people who profess to be Protestants have decreased, the number of atheist and those who just don't identify with any form of religion have increased tremendously. Reading that article sadden me because it shows the moral decay of our present day society and the removal of God from the culture. The sad part is that whenever one thing is removed, it is often replace with something else. Isaac Newton said for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction thus moving away from God and the things of God means that society has accepted the lies and deceit of the devil and a nation that refuses to acknowledge God is doomed.

From that article, I read another one mentioning that Albert Einstein' s "God Letter" is  being auctioned off and that the first bid is about $3million. I googled information about the letter because I was curious to see where Einstein stood when it came to religion and though he called religion "childish" in his letter, I learned that he was very well aware and acknowledge that there was a God or the presence of an Higher Being. I later went to Yahoo and found another article about a neurosurgeon who, after spending 7 days in a coma, came back to life to proclaim that Heaven is real! This is the same man that denied the experiences of his patients who also had near death experiences!

The final interesting event today happened after I was leaving from class. I ran into a former professor of mines who, knowing I was a Christian, introduced me to his colleague who was also a Christian. We found ourselves in an engaging conversation about God and science and these two professor confessed Jesus Christ and declared that science is evidence of God's existence. The lady professor went ahead and shared how she came to Christ with me and told me that it was in the middle of her research in astronomy that she realized what she was learning was already perfectly described in Genesis and this amazed her so much that she decided to know the God of the Bible!! Amazing!

So now I sit here and I ask God, what was the purpose of all of my experiences today? It is simple...God is real and Jesus saves!! Some people deny God because they think their limited wisdom is enough, but God created the very science you study! The little "wisdom" you have is absolutely not even a 1/10 of the details of how He created the universe. You will never fully comprehend the mysteries of God but He allows glimpses into His creativity. This does not mean we should then make science a "god" or idol because we are amazed by it but rather be amazed at the One whose Hands created it!

I feel the urgency in my heart to just say this! Heaven is real, and so is hell. Everyday we live, is living by grace but the Lord is warning that time is running out!! If you haven't receive Jesus Christ as Lord, time is running out! The events of the world are all pointing to His second coming. Today's event was God crying out to me asking, how else can He reveal Himself as God before people heed His voice? Science proves it, creation declares it, yet so many are blind. This is not the time to turn away from God but rather it is time to draw near to Him. Choose you this day who you will serve but remember that hell is eternal separation from God, a second death. It is not our Father's desire that any perish! For anyone that has not felt the power of salvation in Jesus,  repent and confess Jesus as Lord now, for one day, EVERY tongue will confess, and EVERY knee will bow.

May God help us all. Amen.
Luke 21: 25-28
"And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves,  people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For the powers of the heavens will be shaken. And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near."

Humble Me With Your Thorn

A thought just crossed my mind today that I thank God for. I see the hand of God moving in my favor everyday and I am beyond grateful knowing that the God of Heaven and Earth, knows my name and is concerned about my well-being. In the midst of the blessings, my heart keeps crying to God, not because I am sad, but because I pray not to ever feel independent of God. I don't want His blessings to make me think higher of myself that I start departing from Him. If the blessings will cause that, I would rather just have Him. It is so easy to get proud and feel like you can do it all on your own or that your success is a result of your hard work, when in reality all that we are and have are the doings of God's provision and grace. So today, my heart cried to God as always, that God should humble me in all things. Whatever it may take so that when tomorrow's success comes, I do not forget the Source of the success is what I pray God should do in my life. I want it all about Him, so when people see me, they will be seeing Him instead. What came to me was the life of Apostle Paul and how God humbled Him with a thorn in his flesh so I decided to study that scripture.

"And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong."- 2 Corinthians 12:7-10

When I read this it ministered deeply to me that God will not share His glory and if you want to be used for God, you have to be okay with not being seen. If what you want is the spotlight, the fame, and the adoration from people, then you are not ready to be used by God. God uses the powerless to demonstrates His power. It evens says in 1 Corinthians 1:27 that "But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise. God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong." Apostle Paul first asked for the thorn to be removed but realized that it was strategically placed there by God so that he may remain humble and thus remain a useful vessel in God's hands! God's strength is made perfect in our weakness and so like Apostle Paul, I will take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecution, in distresses, for Christ's sake for when I am weak, then I am strong! God heard my cry and desire to remain dependent on Him at all times, to need Him always. I know the thorns in my flesh and I thank God for them because they are there to keep me humble. I wouldn't want it any other way because this life of mine, must give Him glory! So thank God for your thorns! Your humbleness allows Him to use you! And isn't it a wonderful thing to know that The same God that humbles you, shall exalt you in due season!!?? (1Peter5:6) Amazing!

Notes from Sunday Service-Confirmation!

I wrote a post on Tuesday What Do You Do When You've Done All You Can? because I am in the middle of truly trusting God for the direction of my life. While writing the post, God just kept telling me  to trust His word. I keep hearing "Have faith, Trust Me, I've promised you. My Word is sure, etc etc". It's hard because sometimes you just wish you could do it but God has better ways of doing it. I Thank God because today's message at church was just confirmation of all He's been telling me. I will have greater faith! I will trust God's plan for me and praise him through it all!

Topic: Greater Faith-Stop Laughing
Text: Genesis 18:1-15

What we find to be funny can be an indicator of our faith.

-There is one area in your life where you might be laughing because you find it hard to believe that God's promise in that area will actually happen.

- The very thing that we laugh at is the very thing that God wants to do most in our life. Ex: Sarah is laughing at what will profoundly define her life, her purpose

-laughing is overrated. God wants to do something else in your life that requires more of God and less of me

Stop laughing because.....

1. God's word is sure (v.10)
God didn't say "i'm thinking about coming back" but He said " I will surely return this time next year!"
-God has no need to exaggerate His word so when He gives He's word, that word is sure!!
- Question:
Do you believe ALL of the Word of God? Or do you just believe parts of it because you think part of it is too big for you?
- Evaluate everything by aligning it with the Word of God! Read what God says and pray for the POWER to execute it!
- You may not understand all of God's word, but because you know God the Father, you can trust that all God says is true!

2. God's timing is strategic (v.12)
waiting often times weakens our faith, but God's resolve has not been weakened.
- You begin to understand where you are in faith, until your mood changes but God does not rule based on our emotions.
-even if it's out of season, I'm the kind of God that will give you an April blessing in October. It's never late with God. Your dreams are still in place, your goals are still doable.
-Question:
Why does God have me waiting so long?
-For HIS GLORY!! When God answers prayers, He considers what will ultimately give Him the most glory, what will increase His influence in your life? How answering of the prayer will impact your whole life and the life of those that love you and know you. How saying YES to you will impact your friends, co-workers, everyone.
-By waiting, God is sticking to the plan. He sees what we cannot see. He has to make your past and future come together.
-All of the experiences we go through, the people in our life, is the perfect preparation for the future we cannot see!

3. God's power is sufficient (v14)
Don't focus on your ability, but focus on God's competence. Your ability cannot take your far but if you say "God whatever is Your will, let it be done"
Question:
Is there anything too hard for God?
The same God that put blue in the sky, the God that spins planets, holds stars, Is there anything too hard for Him? Our God can do anything!
- Though they laughed, God blessed them anyway. Because they laughed, God told them to name the son Isaac which means laughter. God got the last laugh.

-GOD IS ABLE!!!

'I know the plans I have for You, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plants to give you a hope and a future"- God

"Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, theLord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."- Isaiah 40:28-31

No matter if the crowds are gone curtains drawn if no one knows my name and if I’m forgotten by the whole world wide

I will tell you, what I do,
as long as there is, still one breath in me there always will be, one more song for you

eh, eh, For you oh..yeah, yeah,

Cause whether I’m rich or poor, young or old, infamous or faint and whether I’m in distress, over blessed
I’ll love you and I’ll serve you as long as they is still one breath in me they’ll always will be one song for youlike no one is listening we down to just the two,
if you want to hear it, I will sing it from my spirit for you;

Alleluia, alleluia
Alleluia, alleluia
[repeat]

as long as there is, still one breath in me there always will be, one more song for you
like no one listening we down to just the two, if you want to hear it, I will sing it from my spirit for you;
