How to Make Nigerian Meat Pie

I made meat pies a while back and these are the steps I used! Enjoy and let me know if you tried it!

Ingredients: Ground beef, Flour, Carrots, Potatoes, White onions, Butter, Baking powder, maggi cube, salt  (personal seasonings)

Chop onions, carrots and potatoes into little cubes

add oil to pot and add ground beef, onions and salt.

Cook until beef is done

add carrots and potatoes

Then Add maggi, and personal seasonings . Allow to cook for 10 minutes or until carrots and potatoes are soft.

in a cup, add 1/2 cup of water and 2 teaspoons of flour. Stir the flour in the cup and then add the mixture to the pot. Cook for 5 minutes and your dressing will be done. Set it aside

Add butter to the flour. Add enough until the flour slowly changes color. Add 2 spoons of baking powder, a pinch of salt. Be careful not to add too much salt if your butter is already salted.

Add water to the flour slowly and mix until the dough is thoroughly mixed and soft

roll out the dough and use a cutter to make small circles. I used the top of my pot to make the circles

Add a little of the already prepared dressing

In a plate, crack open an egg. Moist the ends of the dough with egg yolk.

Fold the dough over and seal the ends with a fork. Using the egg yolk, slightly cover the top of the sealed meat pie with the egg yolk.  Think of it as rubbing "lotion" on the meat pie. This will make the meat pie turn goldish-brown in the oven. Repeat these steps until you are out of dough or until you make as many meat pies as you wish

Put in oven for 45 minutes or until the pies are gold in complexion.
Let it cool and enjoy!
